Fun collection of 15 trails totaling 10 miles and several longer links and loop options. Trails are rated and signed on the site, plus there is a pamphlet with map available at ASRA Headquarters.
An oval track designed for “mini” and “motocross” riders also on site. The “Mini” track is for 90 cc’s or less (for children); the “Motocross” is for bikes of 90 cc’s or more.
Vehicles must stay on designated routes which are signed. A Detailed/Enlarged Map for "Mammoth Bar OHV Area" is included in the Maps Section.
Some are designated for two-way traffic and others for one-way only. The trails are located on a steep sidehill above the Middle Fork of the American River. This is a south facing slope and the vegetation is mostly dense chaparral that offers little shade.
There is a picnic area near the river under scattered trees.
The access road is gated. Summer months it is open each day at 8:00 A.M. During winter months it closes at 5:00 P.M. and closes at 8:00 P.M. during summer. Recreation trails are open as scheduled except during wet weather and dry-out periods when the access gate is closed. Open days for OHV tracks and trails: October 1 to March 31, Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. April 1 to September 30: Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays
ATV riders are required to wear a helmet and all riders should wear safety helmets and other protective equipment.

Follow Old Foresthill Road east for 1.5 miles after leaving Highway 49 intersection (B). Turn right (south) at sign onto paved road dropping to Middle Fork.
